Vieux Mot
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Measure Gin
- 3/4 measure Saint Germain
- 1/4 measure Simple Syrup
- 3/4 measure Lemon Juice
- 1 dash Pernod
Directions
Shake with ice. Serve in a chilled cocktail glass.
Saint Germain seems to be all the rage as of late, and this cocktail is one of the brands suggestions (minus the Pernod). As detailed, I found the cocktail pleasant, but missing something in the finish, and leaving one hanging as if the show had ended prematurely. A small dash (err on the side of caution) of Pernod maintains the French aspirations of this cocktail, and adds the missing period to the end of the sentence. We also tried a dash of orange bitters, but it tended to overpower the floral notes of the Saint Germain.
